a patient's life

a patient's life

At the end of 2025, my brother was in the hospital for three months after having a serious accident at work. During this time, I spent many weekends visiting him. Those weekends felt very repetitive and not much to do from day to day. This made me reflect on what this experience may be from the patient's perspective.

This inspired me to capture to day to day life of a hospital patient through photography. While my brother inspired the concept, many hospital patients live through similar repetitive cycles of recovery, waiting, and healing.

The series focuses on the quiet repetition of hospital life: the same environment, the same routines, and familiar faces each day. Rather than presenting the series as something dark or negative, the goal was to bring awareness to the experience of patients while maintaining a sense of calm and optimism.

Overall, the series highlights both the repetition and resilience found in hospital life, and the quiet progress that happens within it.
